Dantonio said, for now tight end Brian Linthicum and linebacker Max Bullough will sit out the first few practices of the spring as part of the program’s internal discipline.

In Aspen, Colo, both were arrested in early March. Bullough, 19, charged with possession of alcohol by a minor and eluding an officer whereas Linthicum was charged with misdemeanor assault and eluding police. In court April 19 the players are scheduled to appear.

The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks will take on the Texas A&M Aggies. These two teams will play in the season opener. The game will take place this coming Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled to take place at 7 pm Eastern Time. The game will be played at Kyle Field.

This opening game will be exciting for the state of Texas. Both of these teams are from Texas. These two teams are hard to compare as they have come from very different situations in the past year.

The Lumberjacks are coming off of a stellar season. They managed a record of 10-3 on the season and were a force to be reckoned with in their conference. The problem is that they did not take on top level competition during the season. In all 13 of their games they never were required to take on a team in the top 25. They will enter this season with something to prove. This game may be their best option at showing the world that they are a solid team.

The Aggies play in the Big 12 which is one of the top conferences in all of college football. The Lumberjacks will want to show that they can play tough against the likes of a team in the Big 12. A win in this game would go a long way towards proving their point.

The Aggies managed a record of 6-7 last season. They have a solid offense. Their offense can throw, run and score. The defensive end of the ball is the real problem. Although they managed to score 32.8 points per game, they did not win as many as they would have liked to. Defensively they surrendered 33.5 points per game. This will be tough to overcome in 2010.
